With our roots firmly established in Connecticut our driving school started in Sterling House Community Center with Sy Knepler creating what will become a three generation family owned driving school with locations in Monroe, CT, Stratford, CT, and Boca Raton, FL. Our focus is on helping/assisting all persons obtain a driver license as well as continued safe driving and defensive driving practices. We are the only driving school who has handicap modified vehicles. We assist those with special needs as well as perform driver evaluations when needed or requested. We currently are in our third generation of driver safety instruction and training.

Sy Knepler – Founder

In 1956 Sy Knepler, a high school teacher and physical education coach opened up the first driving school in Stratford CT out of the Sterling House Community Center. Starting with only a handful of students he was successful in creating one of the most unique driving education programs in the country and is recognized as one of the fathers of driver education in the state. Involved with many organizations including NETSEA (New England Safety Education Association, ADTSEA (Driver Traffic Safety Education Associations), former president of CTDSEA (Connecticut Driver Safety Education Association, he helped to pioneer many of the safety procedures that are taught today. He help to trained instructors all over the state setting the standard for quality driving education. Sy, believed that each student had a different learning style and would adjust his curriculum accordingly. This would be strengthened with the help of his son Gary in 1973. His knowledge and expertise in special education brought the innovation of modification equipment for vehicles.
